Abstract

Wire support matting for galleries in mine and tunnel construction comprises separate mattings 1, 2, 3 each comprising longitudinal bars, each of which has on one end 25 thereof a connector lockable by a bolt on to this end 25 of the bar and engageable by the other end 23 of a longitudinal bar of an adjacent wire support matting, and cross bars 13 to 19 to, which the longitudinal bars are welded at the crossing points, each connector comprising a clamping body 26 guided on said other end 25 between adjacent cross-bars the bolt 28 fastening the clamping body on to the longitudinal bar so that the length of the matting may be adjusted. The bolt 28 serves all the clamping bodies across the matting, its cross section being such that it constitutes a cam which, when the bolt is turned it tightens bodies 26 on the ends 25 with the connectors adjusted as required. <IMAGE>
