Abstract

Finders.-A reflect. ing view-finder A- is so constructed that when the camera is 'held at definite height above the ground, and a rod B, Fig. 1, slidable on the finger A is adjusted so that it coincides with the image of the foot of the object to be photographed, the position of the rod B indicates the distance away of the object and the camera can be focused accordingly. In a modification, Figs. 5 and 6, the rod B has a rack E which gears with a pinion H on a rod G rotatably attached to the front of the camera body F. A pinion J, on the rod G, gears with a fixed rack K. With this construction, the camera is automatically focused by moving the camera front F until the rod B coincides with the image of the foot of the object to be photographed. The rod G is telescopic, and has a spring joint g, so that the device may be used in a camera having a vertically movable front and to allow the camera to be used horizontally.
