Abstract

198,780. Tweddle, N. March 9, 1922. Vacuum cleaning-apparatus.-A tool for the removal of dust by suction comprises a suction orifice associated with one or more jets through which high-pressure air is delivered and which are located in or behind a plane in the suction pipe where the in-drawn air has attained its highest velocity. Fig. 1 shows a suction nozzle provided with a single high-pressure air jet 1, and with a removable brush 7. The brush may be replaced by an electrically insulating rim. Fig. 6 shows an air-delivery ring furnished with several jets 12 which surround a suction hood 15 sliding in the bent end of the suction pipe which terminates in a metal cup 13 with an insulating rim 14. Fig. 8 shows a tool having a pair of air-pressure jets 17 located behind a rectangular brush having an elongated opening 20 and surrounded by a hood: 22 of leather or similar material.
