198,575. British Thomson - Houston Co., Ltd., (General Electric Co.). June 23, 1922. Coiling-The filament of an electric incandescent lamp, such as a projection lamp, consists of more than two coiled sections, 11, 12, 13, Fig. 1, placed side by side with their axes parallel in the same plane, adjacent sections or groups of sections being coiled in opposite directions. The filament is made by winding the filament wire from a drum A, Fig. 2, on a rotating mandrel wire 15, and as each section is completed it is clamped by the jaws a, b and a ring and screw 17<b> of a tubular device which prevents it from unwinding while the next section is being wound. Specification 12792/15, [Class 39 (ii), Electric lamps, Incandescent], is referred to.
