Abstract

Converting alternating and direct currents.- Pulsating or alternating currents of high frequency - are obtained by projecting light waves of different frequencies on to a light-sensitive body 1 included in a direct-current circuit, Light from the sources 4, 5 is passed through screens 6, 7 of different colours, and the waves of different frequencies thereby produced are caused to overlap on the body 1 by means of lenses 2, 3. The interference of the, waves produces changes of conductivity in the body 1 of a frequency corresponding to the difference in the frequencies of the waves, and the pulsations thereby produced in the circuit may be converted into alternating currents of the same frequency by means of a transformer 10.
