Abstract

196,294. Koenemann, E. April 12, 1922, [Convention date]. Belts. - Combined metal and non-metal driving and like belts are built up from linked metallic members 1, 2, of which the pivot pins 5 and, if desired, sleeves 4 surrounding the pins are passed through continuous strips 3 of leather, rubber, fabric, or the like arranged on edge to engage the pulley rims. The inner links 2 may be connected above the strips 3 to form U-shaped members enclosing the strips. As shown in Fig. 4, the strips 3 may be arranged between the links 1 and a central line of links 2, which may be laminated to increase the lateral flexibility of the belt, for use on cone pulleys &c. The layers of links and strips may be increased in number. In the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a), the application of the invention to winches and lifts is referred to. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
