195,754. Ransomes, Sims, & Jefferies, Ltd., and Murdoch, W. S. Jan. 6, 1922. Lawn - mowers. - In hand - operated mowers having fixed and rotary cutters mounted on a frame supported at one end by wheels and at the other by a roller, springs are attached to the handle and the frame in such a way that they tend to hold the supporting-roller on the ground. In the machine shown tension springs g are provided above the pivot of the handle f so as to press down the roller e. In a modification, tension springs are arranged below the pivot. In other modifications, leaf springs and helical compression springs are employed.
