Boring-heads.-The cutters of a boring-tool are carried in a head B which is so constructed as to be detachable from the shank A without the necessity for the removal of the latter from the machine spindle. The cutters D are adapted to cut on their sides and heading faces and, after being set by a gauge, are locked in their adjusted positions in the head B which is secured to the shank A by a tapered spigot A<3> and cotter C. Key-pieces E locate the head on the shank and relieve the cotter from shear stress. Sockets.-Simitar key-pieces F may be used to locate the shank on the machine spindle.
