Abstract

195,378. Aktiebolaget Ars. March 22, 1922, [Convention date]. Optical-projection apparatus. - Apparatus for panoramic projection comprises a number of projectors 2 arranged around the circumference of a circular casing 1 attached to a shaft 3 by which it is continuously rotated. The projectors are all illuminated from a central source 6 and each comprises a condenser 7 and objectives 15, 16, the objectives being vertically adjustable and also adjustable pivotally around axes 11. The objective 15 forms an inverted image between the two objectives and this image is erected by the objective 16. The object to be projected is in the form of a cylinder 4 carried by a support 20, 21 which is secured to a shaft 5 by which it can be rotated if required. The casing 1 is provided with a ventilator 8. The picture is projected on to a cylindrical screen, coaxial with the casing 1, the magnification produced by the lenses 15, 16 being equal to the ratio of the radii of the screen and the cylinder 4 so that a continuous projected image is produced. The apparatus may be arranged in several tiers, each having a central source of light. The cylinder 4 may be replaced by two or more co-axial, independently rotatable, cylinders.
