Abstract

194,796. Smith, W. S., and Shuter, A. D. Dec. 17, 1921. Coating materials in long lengths.-Electric conductors to be coated with material which is applied liquid are covered with the material and passed through a vacuum chamber and then through a bath of the liquid in a vessel the pressure in which is above that of the atmosphere. The conductor F passes under the orifice of a vessel G containing the material and through a die C into a chamber A from which air is removed by a pump B. It leaves the vessel A through a die D, which removes superfluous coating material, and passes to a chamber I containing a bath of the material and provided with a pipe J through which air can be introduced to raise the pressure.
