Abstract
194,224. Dobschutz, W. June 26, 1922. Mats.-A fitting for the running board or like part of a motor-car or other vehicle comprises a mat or scraper adapted when depressed by a person stepping out of the vehicle, to close the circuit of an electric lamp 'for lighting up the pavement or ground near the step. As shown, the fitting consists of a frame 3, 2 with a hinged member 8, 9 of grid form which constitutes the scraper, and box-like portions 4, 6 which contain the circuit-closing contacts 14, 15 and the lamp and reflector 12. The open base 2 of the frame is secured to the running board 1. The back member 3 of the frame may be separate from the base and adapted to be! set further back to suit a wider footboard.
