Abstract
192,566. Swayne, S. G., and Osmond & Matthews, Ltd. Jan. 3, 1922. Moulding confectionery.-Trays for use in making confectionery, sweetmeats, and the like are provided with means whereby they are stacked in spaced, superposed relation when loaded and are nested when not in use. The corners of the metal blank are cut off at 45‹ and two opposite edges are bent to form sockets 6 for the horizontal portions 20 of the spacing wires, and the other two edges to form flanges 10, with folded edges 14, to prevent lateral displacement when the trays are stacked. The spacing wires are 'bent to form portions 16, 18, 20 mutually at right angles. The bottom tray may be spaced from the oven-sole by using an additional tray with spacers extending downwards as shown in Fig. 1. When the trays are nested the portions 20 are withdrawn from the sockets 6 and the portions 18 are sprung into recesses 8, the portions 20 depending at the corners of the tray. The spacers may be arranged to extend upwardly from the trays, lateral movement being prevented by flanges turned up from the face of the tray.
