Abstract
192,119. Cockbill, F. C., and Grimes, J. H. V. Sept. 24, 1921. Coating bakers' and confectioners' goods.-In a device for icing cakes of the kind comprising a rotary table supporting the cake and a pair of blades adjustably mounted on a standard, the standard e is slidably arranged on the bed h, carrying the rotary table a, and provided with a spigot and socket joint l, secured by a pin n, this allowing the standard to be rotated to carry the blades f, g clear of the cake. The side blade g is carried by a member o slidable in a housing p on the standard e, a screwed rod q, having a handle r, being provided to move the blade towards or away from the cake. The upper blade f has similar adjusting means carried on a telescopic arm s slidably mounted on the standard e. A bead-forming blade i is hinged to the side blade g so that it may be swung clear prior to the withdrawal of the side blade from the cake. Fig. 3 shows a modification for use with oval cakes, the table a, in this case. carrying a cam-piece y which engages a member z adjustably mounted in the standard e and causes the latter to move away from the cake, a. spring 1 being provided to return it.
