585,443. Aero - engine cowlings. MALCZEWSKI, J. Aug. 17, 1945, No. 21057. Convention .date, Feb. 8, 1944. [Class 4] Engine cowlings of the kind comprising parts 4, 5 hinged to a bottom element 3 have the parts made capable of adjustment into a number of different positions for their use as working platforms. The bottom element 3 can be displaced vertically from its position of use as a part of the cowling to serve as a, platform and to carry with it the parts 4, 5. Threaded shafts 7, supporting a frame 9 carrying, the cowling and mounted in nuts 8 on the engine, are moved up or down as they are rotated in the nuts by a crank 14.
