Vehicles with removable, bodies; sides, floors, roofs.-In a railway car of the kind adapted to receive a number of receptacles 15, Fig. 1, for transporting goods without repacking, the car is divided into a series of spaces by transverse members 7, Figs. 1 and 3, which, with the side and end walls, are fitted with wedge-shaped elements 2, 10, 11 adapted to co-operate with corresponding wedges-shaped elements 20, Fig. 3, on the lower edges of the receptacles 15 so as frictionally to retain the latter in position, the doors 22 of the receptacles being arranged adjacent to the transverse members 7 so that unauthorised tampering with the load during transit is prevented. The sides 15 of the receptacles are preferably corrugated, and gusset plates 32 carrying pivoted lifting loops 33 are fitted at the upper corners to facilitate attachment of the chains of a crane. The floors 25 of the receptacles are raised from the floor of the car by means of angle-irons 26, and the roof sheets 28, 29 are connected to overhanging angle-irons 27.
