191,579. Dehn, F. B., (Titan Power Hammer Corporation). Dec. 10, 1921. Percussive drills.-The floating hammer member 3 of a percussive tool has an extension 6 engaging a recess 5 in a member 2 reciprocated in any suitable manner, as by means of a disc crank 12 driven by flexible shafting (not shown). An air cushion is thus maintained between the members 3, 5. Air for cooling is drawn in through ports 10 and passes through the casing by means of grooves 7, 8 and 17, escaping by openings 30. The tool holder 14, together with the cylinder 1, can move within the outer casing 21 against a spring 25.
