Shedding-motions; healds.-The warps are passed through holes in axleless disks f, Fig. 2, which are intermittingly rotated in opposite directions through a number of right-angles by means of toothed or friction wheels h on a common shaft i actuated by ratchet mechanism controlled from a jacquard. The disks are held in position by means of guide-rollers g. The shaft i is connected by gear-wheels to a shaft n, Fig. 4, to which is secured a ratchet-wheel o and which loosely carries arms q, q<1> having spring catches v adapted to engage stops u. Lever pawls p, p<1> are pivoted to the arms q, q<1> and are controlled by springs r, r<1> and cords s, s<1> operated from the jacquard apparatus. The cords s, s<1> are operated alternately or otherwise, according to the shedding required.
