Abstract
14,720. Lobeck, O. Oct. 18. Baskets. - In a centrifugal separator for cleaning milk &c., the basket filter comprises a layer of wadding or wool 8 clamped between two perforated shells 7, 9. One of these shells is detachable to permit the filter to be changed. Both may be detachable. The wall of the basket may be conical, instead of cylindrical as shown. and the shells 7, 9 may be perforated in part only, pads of wadding or wool being used to correspond. The liquid to be treated is supplied by a pipe 12 to a preliminary separating- chamber 10, from which it spills upon the filtering-wall. The arrangement of this chamber 10 may be modified so that the shock of delivery to the filtering-wall is reduced, and a plate may be arranged to receive it.
