Rotary converters; exciting.-An asynchronous alternating-current machine and a directcurrent machine having different numbers of poles are arranged on one stator and rotor. The arrangement may be used as a rotary converter or as a double-current generator. The primary winding AW of the alternating- current machine and the field-magnet windings FL of the direct-current machine are on the stator, while the armature winding AL of the direct-current machine has equipotential connexions KV which act as the short-circuiting secondary connexions of the alternating-current machine. The primary winding AW is supplied from a two-phase transformer having primary and secondary windings PW1, PW2, and SW1, SW2 respectively. The winding AW serves also as a compensating-winding for the directcurrent machine, the direct current taken from the armature brushes B1, B3 and B2, B4 being led to the mid-points of the transformer windings SW1, SW2. Commutating-windings K1, K2 may be employed. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 13,399/98,and 5050/00.
