Body attachments, buoyant.-A life-saving vest or - other device for personal wear comprises one or more air-tight and water-tight chambers normally open to the air at the base and adapted to retain air on the wearer being immersed in water. In the form shown, a vest consists of an inner wall of rubbered cloth, and'an outer wall comprising two layers 3, 4 forming compartments 5, 7 enclosing buoyant material, such as carded kapok, or air or gas, the chambers 12, 13 between the two walls being open at the base. The seams may be made air-tight by the insertion of rubber or balata or varnishes, with or without stitching. The front compartment 5 has about four times the volume of the rear compartment 7, and bands 14 are provided on the inner wall 1.
