9383. Inkpen, G. C. Vernon-. June 26. Ventilators; window appliances.-A hopper window or ventilator, part of the upper end of which is shown in Fig. 8, comprises side cheeks b and an adjustable and readilyremovable pivoted sash a suspended by arms d with knobs d<1> engaging with recesses or equivalents e<1> in a curved bar e at the upper end of each of the side cheeks. A guard f on each cheek prevents the sash from being removed except at the gap or gaps g. The side edges of the sash have tongues s which enter grooves or the like r on the outer edges of the sides b. The sill plate c, Fig. 3, has upturned sides and an upturned inner edge to serve as a weather strip, and the lower edge of the sash a may be guided by mouldings m.
