Leghting systems.-An electric installation for use in lighting motor-vehicles comprises accumulators B and a dynamo A having a shunt winding a and a differential series winding, which is arranged so that the winding a<1> is connected to the circuit of the accumulators, while the part a<2> is connected to the main supply circuit comprising the head-lights Y, electric horn Z, or other apparatus. The arrangement includes also a regulator C adapted to introduce a resistance c into the circuit of the shunt winding a, and a cut-in switch D. The lamps X, the current consumption of which is small, may be connected to the winding a<1> which supplies the accumulators. Additional resistances e are included in the circuit of the shunt winding a, these resistances being short-circuited when the devices Y, Z are switched on.
