Ball bearings; roller bearings.-Relates to sidepressure bearings for the vertical pivots of pedestal gun-mountings, and consists in providing means for withdrawing the upper and lower ball or roller bearings simultaneously in a downward direction without raising the gun carriage from the pedestal. Fig. 1 shows the upper and lower side-pressure roller bearings C, C<1> for the vertical pivot A<1> carried by a sleeve D so that they can be removed together by drawing the sleeve downwards through a hole in the base-plate of the pedestal B. The hole is closed by a plug B<1> supporting the usual end thrust roller bearing C<2>.
