Linear-dimension gauges.-The movements of the rollers in sugar-cane and other mills, which are caused by variations in the thickness of the quantity of material passing between them, are indicated or recorded by apparatus comprising a drum or scale H adjustably mounted upon a bracket C secured to the framing E of the machine, and a pointer or marker operated by a part N movable with the roller, preferably through a friction-held telescopic member M adjustable in a slot L in a link K, which is connected to a spring plunger Q the movement of which contrats the indicator through a straight-line link-work.
