4633. Farrer, W. C., and Glossop, G. March 25. Scissors and handshears.-The backs of scissors, shear, and like blades are formed with a lengthwise taper, or incline B, on the inner side merging into the full thickness of the blade at or beyond the pivot point C, the shoulders D thus formed serving as stops. The portion F of the blade is preferably made of gradually increasing thickness from about the pivot point towards the handle E, or is otherwise inclined in an opposite manner to the taper B.
