Abstract
710. Blincow, J. E. Jan. 16. Steam cooking-apparatus. - An apparatus for cooking hams and other articles by steam consists of a chamber A formed of wood or other poor conducting-material strongly braced with metal bands, and provided at one end with a door which can be closed air-tight. An inclined way H is provided, so that a wagon E having two floors F, G and wheels can be drawn into the chamber by a winch K, handle L, rope I, and pulley J. The cooking- vessels containing hams or other articles are placed on the floors F, G before the wagon is drawn into the chamber. After the chamber is closed, steam is passed in through the perforated pipe M, a pipe N dipping into a water seal acting as a safety-valve. When the hams &c. are cooked, the door is opened, and the wagon run out, another loaded wagon being drawn in, if desired, at once.
