Abstract

24,477. Gale, F. G., and Hopkinson, R. O. Dec. 22. Mattresses.-In a bed bottom formed of a series of transverse interlocked wire coils 1, the end springs 4 interposed between the mattress and the frame are connected to the wire coils 1 by links 5 of the form shown, the springs being hooked to loops 8. Flanges or projections 10 formed on the links by welding may be provided to keep the links and wire coils 1 properly positioned. Selvedge coils 13 are provided at each side, and the bottom is longitudinally reinforced at a short distance from each side by a coil 14, Fig. 1, or bar 15, Fig. 3, interlocked with the wire coils 1.
