[Cognate Application, 3106/15.] Cleats.-An insulator 1 forming rart of a lampholder or similar coupling has aT-shaped head 2 with grooves forming a cord grip for the leads and holes 4 leading to clamp faces against which the wires are clamped by the correspondinglyshaped rear ends of the contacts 6 when the parts are assembled. In Fig. 1, the T-part is shown projecting, and in Fig. 7, in a recess. The clamp faces may be conical, Fig. 1, inclined, Fig. 3, hemispherical, flat, or of other form. They may form part of a separate block movable within the insulator 1, as shown in Fig. 3, the requisite pressure being given by a screw 8. The parts may be held together by an external ring, Fig. 1, or by screws from the socket end into the insulator, or otherwise.
