Insulators.-In order to prevent glow discharge from the outer ring or collar of an insulator, particularly of a sleeve insulator for use with a high-tension conductor b, the outer ring or collar c is arranged in electric connexion with an inner ring e of metal, conductive cement, &c. The inner ring e, according to the construction shown in Fig. 1, projects into a circumferential groove d in the insulator a, the groove having a U or other suitable shape and being provided, if desired, with a metal lining. In a modification, the inner ring forms a lining on the interior wall of the insulator a and is connected with the outer ring c by a radially-extending conductor or conductors.
