21,261. Rawson, W. S. Oct. 20. Magnesium chloride solution made by dissolving magnesite in hydrochloric acid is purified by adding to the concentrated and hot, preferably boiling, solution finely divided magnesium oxide, preferably burnt magnesite, until the precipitate no longer increases in density. The precipitate settles readily, and the solution may be decanted or the whole may be filtered,
