Abstract

Labelling.-Relates to machines for affixing labels over the stoppers of bottles, and comprises rollers of special construction for affixing the labels and devices for automatically centralizing the bottles beneath the label-applying devices. The affixing-rollers e, Figs. 1 and 9, are formed as hollow rubber or like cylinders, preferably air-sealed, so as to be adapted for bottle necks of different shapes. Guides c direct the bottles to the support a, which is mounted on a spring a<3> and forms a coned seat to centralize the bottles. A yielding plate b<3> within the support a is carried by a spring b<5> and is guided by a telescoping tube b<4> and by fingers b<2> working in slots b in the cone a. A cone d carried by the arms of the label pickers embraces the neck of the bottle to assist in centralizing it. Specification 21,874/12 is referred to. According to the Provisional Specification the rollers e may be formed as circular brushes.
