Abstract
360,658. Bottle-labelling machines. JAGENBERG, G. MEYER-, 107, Himmelgeisterstrasse, Dusseldorf, Germany. Oct. 31, 1930, No. 32847. [Class 73.] A machine for applying to the stoppers of bottles a label of the form shown in Fig. 7 comprises means for applying the cross part B, C of the label to the neck of the bottle, the part A being then wiped on to the stopper ; the means consist of a vertically-reciprocating presser and wiper in the hub of an intermittently-rotating star wheel, of known kind, on which the bottles are carried while labels are applied to their sides. The gummed label is applied to the neck of the bottle by an oscillating member, in known fashion, and the star wheel rotated one step. The ends B, C are applied by the presser 38 which is carried by a shaft 20 reciprocated by cam mechanism from the main shaft, and the end A wiped on to the stopper by a brush 39 similarly actuated.
