Springs, mounting bodies on. - In motor-car suspensions in which the load is supported by levers acting on bearing-springs capable of offering a rapidly increasing resistance to the angular movement of the levers, the springs employed are of the volute type shown in Fig. 3, in which the coils 4 differ in their power of resistance, by reason of their greater cross-sectional area or pitch. Fig. 1 shows the spring 4 supporting the chassis 3 from the axle 1 by means of a lever.
