Press-button switches; retractive switches.- Switch contacts r, f are actuated through a common operating-member g, o, a by pressing either upon a lever h or a lever H, both levers bearing at intermediate points of their length upon the end p of the arm g. The levers are respectively furnished with retracting springs s', s<2>, and the pivot y of the lever H is placed relatively nearer to the point p than the pivot x of the lever h, so that equal manual depressions of the respective levers produce unequal movements of the operating-member g, these movements being utilized to make or break different circuits, for example in telephone systems. The construction shown is adapted to a gas- and water-tight switch by means of a flexible diaphragm to which the transmission members are attached.
