Abstract

Surface-tension separating processes.-In a froth-flotation process of concentrating ores containing colloidal gangue slimes, there is added at some stage in the process a small quantity of an electrolyte which either has a low dissociation constant, such as a weak organic acid, or is a salt of such an acid, for example argol. The treatment may be combined with any of the known flotation processes, Specifications 14,273/12 and 18,937/13 being referred to.
