Ink-ribbon mechanism.-Relates to automatic ink-ribbon reversing mechanism of the kind in which feelers control the engagement of reversing-levers with worms on a longitudinally movable driving-shaft arranged underneath the spools, means being provided to prevent the pressure of the worms on the reversing-levers from being transmitted to the feelers. Each reversing- lever 19 is moved into engagement with the associated worm 24 by the dropping of a lever 13 controlled by a cam 11 on the feeler shaft 9, and is moved out of engagement with the worm by means of a pin 23 on the spool shaft 1. The lever 13 is connected by an adjustable link 16 to the reversing-lever and normally rests on the top of the cam. When the reversing-lever engages the worm, the pin 23 engages periodically a cross-arm 22 on the reversing-lever and thus lifts the lever 13, this being sooner or later caught and held up by the cam. The lever 13 is provided with a tip 14 which can yield if engaged laterally by the cam. The driving- shaft 3, to which the worms are secured, is preferably driven from a part other than the spring drum. The feeler arms 8 are provided with rollers 7 which are pressed against the ribbon by springs 10 on the spool shafts. The reversing-levers may be provided with wormengaging pins 21.
