The eye 4 is connected to the cop cavity by a slot 5 having an inclined bottom 6, which keeps the correct tension on the weft 10. The shuttle is threaded by a tool comprising a bowed handle 11, between the limbs of which a hook 12 is pivoted. The shuttle sides are smooth.
