Abstract

Pulley-blocks.-The movable gate member 1 is connected to the frame 6 of a snatch-block in such a way as to permit a slight tilting movement to disengage the gate 1 from the cross-pin 3, and a considerable turning movement about the pivot 5 to allow insertion or withdrawal of the rope. To facilitate tilting of the member 1, it is cambered on its inner surface 7, and clearance is allowed in the aperture for the pivot 5. The gate is locked bv a catch 8 or other suitable means.
