Abstract

[Cognate Application, 15,615/14.] Induction motor meters.-A ring or coil 10, Fig. 1, for adjusting the speed at low loads is arranged about a laminated core 2 between the poles of a shunt magnet 1, and is mounted on a lever 11 which is pivoted to a bracket 12 at 13, and is adjustable by means of a screw 14 and a pulley 16 with which the forked end of the lever engages. The screw may be locked by a nut 18. The core 2 is separated by air-gaps from the poles, and is mounted thereon by means of a brass plate 3. Two rings or coils 20 for adjusting the phaseangle are mounted about the poles on a frame 21 which is adjustable on an extension of the frame 12 by means of a screw 23 and slot. An E-shaped series magnet 5 is used. In the modification shown in Fig. 6 two rings 10 are mounted on an arm 11 pivoted at 13, and are adjustable for speed regulation by means of a screw 14 and milled disk 25. The phase-adjustment rings 20 are adjustable about the tapered ends 2<x> of the core 2.
