Induction motor meters; brakes; casings.-The magnetic flux which crosses the disk armature 18 from the core 5 of the pressure coil 11 traverses the U-sbaped core 13 of the main-current coils 14 and returns through the meter casing. The core 13 is adjustably secured to a lug 4 projecting from the case. A short-circuited coil 24 surrounds the upper pole of the potential core 5 and is adjustable horizontally by milled screws 32, for phase regulation, and is clamped by screws 30. A copper plate 34 is adjustably mounted in an air-gap in a magnetic shunt of the core 5 to obtain a fine adjustment. The inner edges of the poles of the core 13 are chamfered to ensure proportionality of the rate at low loads, and the coils 14 are arranged flush with the pole faces, to prevent magnetic leakage. The brake magnet 19, the registering-mechanism 20, and the lower bearing for the disk 18, are carried by a removable bracket 22. According to the Provisional Specification, one series-coil only may be employed, movable armatures may be provided for adjusting the field of the brake magnet, and the coil 24 may be vertically adjustable.
