12,071. Oppermann, G. July 17, 1913, [Convention date]. Stopping pipes. - Dummy couplings for closing the ends of railway - brake and like pipes are pivotally mounted on a member secured to the vehicle frame in a manner which allows limited movement in one or more directions. A plug or cap 3 pivotally connected to a member 2 is provided with a lever 4 with suitable projections 5, 6 adapted to engage with corresponding projections on the pipe coupling head 8. The member 2 is linked to an eye 7 carried by a bracket 1 secured to the vehicle. The eyes of the members 2, 7 may vary in size and shape to alter the range of movement. In another form, the eye 7 is omitted and the member 2 has a rectangular extension movable in a slot in the bracket 1.
