Abstract

Winding-machines.-The speed ratio between the drum-shaft and the cam-shaft of a drum winding-machine is decreased at a decreasing rate during the winding of the yarn package, and means are provided to compensate for the increase in pressure of the package on the drum due to increase in weight of the package. The drum-shaft drives the cam-shaft through conical pulleys L, M, along which the belt is moved at a decreasing rate by means of a lever R connected by a a link T with a rod S depending from the spindle carrier. An adjustable weighted lever U is connected by means of a link u<2> with the link T so that, as the rod S is raised owing to the growth in the package, the increasing effect of the lever U compensates for the increasing weight of the package.
