Abstract

9852. Steenburgh, G. W. van, and Steenburgh, M. van. April 21. Spring wheels with sectional outer guided members.-The road rim consists of annular members B, C, D, Figs. 1 and 3, side by side, each formed of sections 21, Fig. 7, with hinge joints. The felloe is embraced by U-shaped blocks A, Figs. 2 and 6, which have a central aperture 20 registering with a boring 12 through the felloe, and side radial passages 19, all of which are of elliptical section and flaring towards the ends. Radial bolts 32 connected to the rim sections are fitted with helical springs and pass through the passages 12, 19. The hinge bolts 25 are connected by pivoted tangential rods 28 to eye-bolts 18 passing through the felloe and blocks.
