Abstract

7051. MacGregor, J. March 20. Submarine vessels. - Comprises constructions whereby submarine vessels may be divided into two or more water-tight sections in the event of accident. Water-tight bulkheads a, bare fitted at the ends of the sections and are provided with set-screws e screwing into a flat ring d which follows the edge of the bulkheads. By partially unscrewing the screws e, the sections may be separated. An arrangement may be fitted for holding the bulkheads together after the screws e are partially withdrawn, consisting of a collar j having screws g as shown, either of which when withdrawn permits detachment.
