Abstract

4856. Thornton Pickard Manufacturing Co., Pickard, G. A., and Pickard, A. G. Feb. 25. Tanks with plate or film transfer arrangements for daylight developing etc.; with partitions for developing &c. several plates or films.- A daylight developing- tank A, Fig. 2, for plates or films in envelopes, is fitted with a cover B having a grooved holder E for the plates or films and light-trap strips D, D' of resilient material, so that the envelopes C can be withdrawn, leaving the plates or films c in the tank. One of the strips D' is preferably removable, and may be formed with a turnedover flange d' to slide on the cover B. An additional water-tight lid F is fitted, and may be held on by lever or other catches (not shown). The lower part of the tank has a light-trapped fluid entry comprising overlapping plates K and an opening which can be closed by a screw H. The cover B may be constructed with a series of light-traps D<2> as shown in Fig. 9.
