Abstract

4721. Adamson, J. Feb. 24. Cramps.-A builder's cramp for supporting, from joists, sheeting for holding newly-laid concrete floors in place until set, consists of jaws A pivoted at B to a plate C having a pair of arcual slots for pins D on the lower ends of the jaws, and a vertical slot for a bolt F, to slide in respectively, links E joining the pins D and bolt F. The bolt F carries a bracket G which supports a bearer K, for carrying the sheeting R for the concrete, on the revoluble head M of an adjustable screw I. A roller H pinned to the bracket G is moved to one side on the pivot F so that the jaws A may be engaged over the joist flanges S, and is then turned vertically to engage under the joist and hold the cramp secure. Additional weight tends to tighten the jaws A.
