Phonographs. - Multiple phonographs, p a r - ticularly for use when synchronously working with kinematographs as described in Specification 22,459/13, are arranged so that the tone-arm of one machine is exactly at the point of starting when the tone-arm of a second machine reaches the completion of its record. The apparatus is described and shown as a double disk machine and may be provided with any suitable feeding-device so as to record as well as reproduce. Fig. 1 is a plan of the double disk machine in which the two disks are constantly driven at a uniform speed; each machine is provided with a tone-arm support 6, 6<1> in the form of a crown-wheel having the recesses 7, 7<1> arranged at such an angular distance apart that one tone-arm 9 is in the finishing position when the other tone-arm 9<1> is in the commencing position. The support-wheels 6, 6<1> are driven together by means of the wheel 8. Rests 11, 11<1> are provided for the sound-boxes when out of action, the tone-arms being moved back by hand on the completion of each record. The driving-shaft of each machine is provided with a central sliding spindle by which the record is raised and tilted to facilitate changing. Each record has an arcuate slot 4 in which the driving- pin 3 on the turntable engages to ensure correct positioning. The records are preferably constructed so that each revolution corresponds to a certain number of pictures projected, so that in the event of a damage to the projection film, an excision by means of a guide line can be made on the record corresponding to the excision from the film.
