Abstract

1538. Carmona, M. S. de. Jan. 20. Spring wheels with, continuous outer resilient suspension ring. -The floating elastic rim 10, Figs. 1 and 2, is connected by parallel or inclined cables 9 to the edges of two groups of graduated spring disks 3 secured to the hub member or drum 1. The spring metal is preferably vanadium steel. The flanges on the drum and the plates are slotted at 8, and the rings 5 have apertures for the bolts. The tyre consists of a flat band of leather 14 having slits 15, 16-alternating at the centre and edges, and secured to the rim by spring clips 17, Fig. 5, which engage notches 19 in the rim and have also barbs 20 entering holes 21 in the rim to prevent circumferential movement of the tyre.
