Abstract
201. Stone, G. Jan. 3. Apparatus fitted to drying-apparatus.-Apparatus for drying wool &c. comprises a support for the material to which an evaporating agent is supplied, the supply being automatically cut off when the weight of the material is sufficiently reduced. Air under pressure is supplied through a conduit 12, branches 13, and lateral extensions 14 to a double row of supports on which the material, consisting for example in raw wool contained in bags 18, rests. Each support comprises a plate with a central hole adapted to coincide with the outlet of one of the extensions 14, and a central perforated air-distribution nozzle detachably engages it It is hung from a counterweighted lever 21 which is itself hung from an arm 23 on the conduit 12; the counterweight 28 is adjustable The air outlet 15 has a weighted valve 35 which may be held open by a loose pin 38 acted on by the support when in its lowest position.
