Aerial machines without aerostats; planes, arrangement and construction of; cars; propelling; steering. -An aerial machine comprises a tapered casing 1 containing a propeller 2, the air from which keeps closed lower doors 18 in the casing, the doors, when the engine stops, opening as the machine descends and allowing air to pass through and act on the upper, inner surface of the casing to check the descent. The car 6 and engine 3 are slung below the casing, and the exhaust pipe 17 of the motor is led into the casing. The rudder 10 and rear land wheel 13 are coupled together for steering in the air and on land. Planes 7 at each side of the casing have adjustable ailerons 8 pivoted at their rear.
